Therapy isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline.
But for so many LGBTQ+ people — especially those who are racialised, trans, disabled, or undocumented — affirming support can feel impossible to find. Long waitlists, sky-high prices, and a real fear of being misunderstood or judged. It’s exhausting.
That’s why we created the Inclusive Therapy Programme at Fighting Fear — a space where LGBTQ therapy is truly inclusive, low-cost (or even free), and shaped by intersectional support.
This isn’t just therapy. It’s community care that meets you where you are.
It’s online therapy built by and for Queer people.
And it’s working.
Who is this for?
Whether you’re LGBTQ+, non-binary, trans, racialised, neurodivergent, disabled, a survivor, seeking asylum or just looking for Queer affirming therapy, this programme is for you.
If you’ve ever felt like therapy wasn’t made for someone like you — we’re here to say it is. You are.

How does it work?
We’ve made the process simple and safe:
Email us at inclusivetherapy@fightingfear.co.uk
We’ll send you a short form to understand your situation and place you into a fee tier
You complete a screening form to share your current challenges and goals
We match you with a therapist — and therapy begins
All sessions are held as secure online therapy, so you can access support no matter where you are.
What does it cost?
Let’s be honest — cost is one of the biggest barriers to therapy.
That’s why we use a tiered pricing model, based on your real-life circumstances.
Some people pay nothing at all. Others pay a low fee per session.
The goal isn’t to profit — it’s to make therapy sustainable. For you, and for the team showing up each week with their time, energy, and emotional labour.
Think of it as community care — with boundaries.
It’s about fairness, not gatekeeping.
Who are the therapists?
All therapists in the Inclusive Therapy Programme are trainees. But here’s the important part:
They’ve been deemed safe to practise by their accredited training institutions. They’re insured, registered, and regularly supervised. These are skilled, compassionate people who reflect the diversity of our communities — many are LGBTQ+ themselves, many are BIPOC, many are multilingual.
And no one is practising alone.
Each trainee therapist is backed by regular individual and group supervision by highly experienced senior supervisors at Fighting Fear.
So yes, they’re still training — but you are not left unsupported.
What kind of therapy is it?
This isn’t “one-size-fits-all.” Our team offers LGBTQ affirming, trauma-informed, intersectional support tailored to your needs.
Common themes people bring include:
Identity, coming out, and gender exploration
Shame, anxiety, and depression
Religious and cultural conflict
Internalised queerphobia, transphobia, and racism
Sexuality, intimacy, and relationships
Navigating neurodivergence or disability
Burnout, discrimination, and marginalisation
The work is gentle, collaborative, and non-pathologising.
We’re not here to fix you — we’re here to walk with you.

Is it safe?
Yes. And safety means more than just confidentiality.
We build real trust — and where risk is present (e.g. self-harm or suicidal thoughts), we co-create safety plans that are collaborative, respectful, and adapted to the unique needs of each person.
Even though therapy is online, your emotional safety and privacy matter deeply to us.
Why does this matter?
Because we’ve seen what happens when people are denied Queer affirming therapy.
The misdiagnoses. The shame. The years wasted in therapy where you couldn’t even talk about your identity.
We’re not doing that anymore.
Our community deserves better.
And we’re not just supporting clients — we’re also nurturing the next generation of Queer and intersectional therapists.
Our programme is a training ground for the kind of mental health care we should have always had.
So when you join the Inclusive Therapy Programme, you’re not just receiving care.
You’re helping shape the future of mental health — one where LGBTQ affirming, intersectional, and low-cost therapy is the norm, not the exception.
How do I start?
Email us at inclusivetherapy@fightingfear.co.uk
You’ll get a clear, simple email outlining the next steps.
We don’t gatekeep, and we don’t ghost.
You’ll know what’s happening, and when.
In case you missed it…
Let’s recap:
This is low-cost or free therapy for LGBTQ+ people and others with intersecting barriers
It’s online, flexible, and tailored to you
You’re supported by trainee therapists — but held within a highly experienced, supervised team
You pay what you can, not what you’re forced to
You’re not alone anymore
Therapy doesn’t need to feel like a fight.
It doesn’t need to empty your bank account.
It doesn’t need to shame you for being who you are.
With the Inclusive Therapy Programme at Fighting Fear, we’re offering something that works — not just for you, but for all of us.
We’re ready when you are.
